Jaw-Dropping Places to Visit in the Maldives

The Maldives are made up of over a thousand tiny islands scattered throughout the Indian Ocean, and each one of them is more gorgeous than the last. Just ask any Maldivian, and they’ll tell you that their home is truly the most beautiful place in the entire world. But if you’re not from the Maldives, or even from Southeast Asia, it might be hard to imagine just how beautiful the islands really are… until you see some of these jaw-dropping pictures of them!

1) The Blue Hole

If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, enjoy and chill, The Blue Hole is your go-to spot. It’s not just a snorkeling spot, but also an amazing location for enjoying time with friends and family. Whether it be swimming, diving or just sitting back and taking some time out for yourself. The Blue Hole offers up all of these things in one spectacular location. Set right on the beach of Alimatha Village, this famous site has been around since 1999! Known as the most unique dive site in the world, The Blue Hole offers an abundance of fish types within an idyllic lagoon that is perfect for swimming at any time of day.

2) The Swing at the Edge of the World

The Swing at the Edge of the World is just one of many attractions on Maafushi Island, a small island near Maldivian capital Malé. The locals have built this swingset on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, and it’s a popular spot for tourists who want to take pictures. It was so chill, said one traveler who took their camera there. I had no idea what I would do when I got up there, but you can’t help but relax. Another visitor described it as fun because they were able to jump off into waves below while all their friends watched from above. They also mentioned that people could see other parts of the island or talk with their friends and family as they swung in midair. In addition, some visitors say that it was fun because swing gave them an adrenaline rush or lifted them out of a bad mood.

3) The Glass Bottom Boat

The Glass Bottom Boat is a must for everyone. This boat takes you on a tour of the beautiful coral reefs surrounding Male. The water is crystal clear and is home to many different kinds of marine life, so you can actually see everything that’s going on beneath your feet. You’ll be able to watch turtles and sharks swimming around, or even find other creatures like octopuses and sea horses among the coral reef. It’s an experience like no other, and one you shouldn’t miss! With all the time spent underwater, you might start feeling a little peckish.

4) The Underwater Restaurant

The most famous place is The Underwater Restaurant, which is located on a sandbank about 1.5 kilometers from the shore. The restaurant is built of steel, glass and concrete, and was designed by a team of architects from Germany and Italy. There are two main parts to it: one for dining and one for viewing marine life. Diners have to descend twelve meters below sea level before entering an airlock, which brings them down another few meters into the restaurant itself at a depth of 12 meters below sea level – or 20 meters total so far. You need to wear a diving suit with an oxygen tank, but don’t worry because there are toilets on site!

5) The Beach Club

The Beach Club is a private, self-catering beach club located on Kandooma Island. The resort has one of the best restaurants on the island, with lots of fresh seafood and an amazing view of dolphins playing offshore. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with balconies that overlook either the ocean or lush gardens, and all have their own private pools. There’s also a spa for relaxing massages or getting your nails done, a tennis court for some friendly competition, and plenty of other activities like fishing trips and snorkeling excursions.

6) The Water Villa

The water villa is not just a suite, it is an experience. It is surrounded by water and has its own private pool on the deck. The sun sets over the Indian Ocean from outside your window. And you can go for a swim anytime you like without ever having to leave your home. Imagine waking up to this view everyday! You will have access to kayaks and snorkeling gear so that you can explore at your leisure while enjoying stunning scenery. Your room is located on the highest floor of the hotel so that no one disturbs you while you enjoy some peace and quiet. If you do want some company, then there are plenty of activities available to keep you entertained. There is also a jetty where you can get off your boat before heading up the stairs into the resort itself. From here, they offer helicopter transfers if it’s raining or too hot outside.

7) The Spa

One of the most popular things to do while visiting a resort is getting a massage. The Spa at Six Senses Landaa Giraavaru offers an array of massage styles including Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage, and Deep Tissue Massage. After your deep tissue or traditional Thai massage, you can have a luxurious manicure or pedicure with nail care services like artificial nails. For those who would prefer something more private, there are also in-room massages offered for those who need some pampering without others watching on.
After your spa treatment is over, take a dip into the pool or get warmed up by the sun before jumping into the Indian Ocean for a refreshing swim.

8) The Sunset Cruise

This is a must do activity in the Maldives. It allows you to experience the sunset over the water and enjoy a delicious meal on board. The cruise will usually have an open bar, and all food is served buffet style for your convenience. The best part about this cruise is that you can choose how long you want it to be – whether you want a half hour or two hour cruise, it’s completely up to you! You may also opt to go scuba diving while out at sea with the captain of your boat.
There are plenty of other ways to spend your time when visiting the Maldives.
