In today’s world of inequality, it can be hard to ignore the pervasive feeling that the rich are getting richer while the rest of us remain stuck in the same place. It’s no wonder then that many people and characters have been created over the years who have taken up the cause of eating the rich in one way or another. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at such people and characters who have made it their mission to challenge the power and privilege of the wealthy.

1) Scrooge McDuck

Scrooge McDuck is a character who has been screaming Eat the Rich for decades. From his very first appearance in Disney’s 1947 cartoon short, Scrooge has been an outspoken critic of wealth inequality and corporate greed. Whether it’s his famed catchphrase, I’m as rich as Croesus!, or his iconic money bin filled to the brim with cash, Scrooge is a symbol of the old-fashioned robber barons who made a fortune off of exploiting the working class. As the wealthiest duck in Duckburg, he stands as a reminder of how the rich are often insulated from the consequences of their actions and that there is an urgency to demand justice for those who suffer at their hands. His mantra of Eat the Rich serves as a rallying cry for those who seek to make a change in our society.

2) Dr. Evil

There’s no denying the hilarity of Dr. Evil, the main villain in the Austin Powers films. He’s the perfect caricature of a wealthy bad guy, and his catchphrase One million dollars! is instantly recognizable. But it’s when he screams Eat the rich! that he truly captures the spirit of a certain type of populist anger. It’s not just his words that convey this sentiment; his oversized pinky ring, white cat, and bald head are all symbols of the wealth and privilege that many people find objectionable. Dr. Evil may be a comedic character, but his message is all too real.

3) The Joker

The Joker is an iconic villain who has been terrorizing Batman and other heroes since 1940. He is best known for his laugh, his maniacal schemes, and his catchphrase Why so serious? But there’s another catchphrase the Joker has become famous for: Eat the rich!
This phrase has become a rallying cry for those who are fed up with the wealth inequality that exists in today’s world. The Joker symbolizes the anger of those who are struggling to make ends meet while the wealthy continue to accumulate more and more money. He is a reminder that money does not equal power, and that those with wealth must be held accountable for their actions.
The Joker may not be a hero, but he serves as an important reminder of what happens when money is abused and people are taken advantage of. He stands as a symbol of defiance against the wealthy and powerful who believe they are above the law. His catchphrase Eat the rich should be seen not only as a humorous phrase, but also as a reminder to hold those with power and wealth accountable.

4) Mr. Burns

One of the most iconic figures to come out of popular culture who screams Eat The Rich is Mr. Burns from The Simpsons. The billionaire antagonist of the show has been a constant source of comedic relief and satirical commentary since 1989, often as a symbol of capitalism’s tendency to accumulate wealth and power at the expense of the average person.
Mr. Burns embodies what it means to be wealthy in a manner that doesn’t just make us laugh, but it also makes us realize how greed and selfishness can be the downfall of even the most powerful people. Whether it’s his lack of care for the environment, or his complete disregard for his employees’ safety and well-being, Mr. Burns shows us why inequality should never be tolerated.
It’s no wonder why Mr. Burns has become such an iconic character and symbol of anti-capitalist sentiment. His message is clear: if you want to create a more equitable world, then you must strive to reduce inequality and Eat The Rich.

5) Lex Luthor

One of the most iconic characters in popular culture when it comes to the concept of eat the rich is undoubtedly Lex Luthor. First appearing in 1940, Luthor is the arch-nemesis of Superman and is considered to be one of the world’s greatest criminal masterminds. Luthor’s goal is to eliminate all of his competition (mainly Superman) so that he can rule the world, and he’ll stop at nothing to achieve it.
Throughout the decades, Luthor has been portrayed as a ruthless businessman who believes that wealth and power are the only ways to ensure success and security. He believes that the wealthy should do whatever it takes to maintain their status and power, even if it means using unethical methods. He often speaks out against social programs and government regulation, claiming that they will only benefit the poor at the expense of the wealthy.

6) Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg

One of the most notorious figures to proclaim Eat the Rich is Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg, a villainous character from Luc Besson’s 1997 science fiction film The Fifth Element. Zorg, played by Gary Oldman, was a wealthy businessman and arms dealer who embodied all of the worst characteristics of corporate greed. He was unapologetic in his pursuit of wealth, power, and influence, regardless of who it hurt in the process.
Zorg’s rallying cry of Eat the Rich became an iconic one within the movie and in popular culture at large. His speech was an indictment against those with tremendous wealth and power who abuse it for their own selfish ends. He didn’t view money and resources as belonging to those who had them, but rather a communal resource that should be shared with everyone. In Zorg’s eyes, true justice could only be achieved if the rich were held accountable for their actions.
Though Zorg’s motivations and character arc may have been written as satirical, his message of holding the wealthy accountable for their actions still resonates strongly today. It has become a powerful symbol of justice and equality, and a reminder that we must never forget about the injustices caused by those with immense wealth and power.

7) Smaug

One of the most famous characters who screams Eat the Rich is Smaug, the great dragon from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. Smaug was a powerful and greedy dragon who took up residence in the Lonely Mountain and hoarded all of its treasures. He had no qualms about attacking anyone who dared to approach him, and this included the wealthy Dwarven population of the area.
When Bilbo Baggins arrived on the scene, Smaug made it very clear that he had no intention of sharing his riches with anyone. In fact, he was determined to take what was not his and was willing to use violence to do so. By threatening to destroy their homes, Smaug showed that he believed that wealth and power should be held by those who could take it – by force if necessary.
The story of Smaug serves as a warning to those who seek to amass wealth without considering the consequences for those less fortunate. His greed ultimately leads to his own demise, but not before he sends a strong message about the dangers of unchecked wealth.
